Back Room
Back Room volunteers help prepare, stock, and display our products for sale. These volunteers are also able to assist customers with any questions, loading customers vehicles, and assist other areas of work if need be. Warehouse volunteers are expected to be able to do some lifting and moving around, so please keep this in mind when signing up to volunteer.
Sales & Cashiering
Sales and cashier volunteers are able to work the cash register, greet customers, and help answer any questions about the ReStore and the products available for sale. These volunteers also work with warehouse volunteers to keep shelves full of product. These volunteers are not expected to do much of any lifting or moving around, but basic math skills and a sunny disposition are a must for these jobs!
Pickup
Pickup volunteers drive (or ride along) throughout our service area to collect donations from local businesses and homeowners. They are responsible for quality inspection of the materials to be collected, load trucks with usable products, and unload the products back at the ReStore. Pickup volunteers are expected to be able to lift fairly heavy objects, load and unload vehicles. You do not need to have a valid driver’s license to be able to volunteer in this area.
Office Help
Office volunteers are a great help to us, there is a variety of behind-the-scenes work that needs to be done at the ReStore, and more often than not, these are the people that get the work done! Office volunteers assist staff members in data entry, correspondences, telephone work, marketing and soliciting donations.
Deconstruction
Deconstruction volunteers assist in removing reusable materials from buildings that will either be remodeled or demolished. Deconstruction volunteers must be able to do some lifting, load, and unload vehicles. You can see when Deconstruction Volunteers are needed here.
